V/Line Cup 2026

The V/Line Cup Carnival extends beyond the on-field competition, with AFL Victoria delivering a series of community development and education opportunities that are open to the broader football community.

On Tuesday evening, a range of development sessions will be delivered to support all areas of the game, including coaching development, umpire education, women and girls football, and leadership opportunities. These sessions will bring together volunteers, coaches, officials, players and community members to learn, connect and share ideas that will help strengthen football across Gippsland.

The carnival will also feature an AFL Nines participation event, providing families, supporters and siblings travelling with the representative teams an opportunity to get involved and play football themselves while attending the V/Line Cup. The event offers a fun and inclusive way for the broader travelling group to connect with the carnival experience and enjoy being part of Gippsland football.

Coaching Development Workshop

A practical development session for coaches, volunteers and club leaders, focused on building capability, sharing ideas and strengthening coaching practices across Gippsland football. Hear from VFL Casey Demons Head Coach Rhett McLennan, along with Talent League Coaches.

Umpire Education & Development

An opportunity for umpires, club officials and football volunteers to explore umpire development, recruitment, retention and pathways, while strengthening understanding and support for umpires across the game.

Lead Your Way

A dedicated leadership and personal development session designed to inspire and empower current and future leaders within Gippsland football. Open to players, coaches, volunteers, administrators and community members, the session will focus on leadership, inclusion, personal growth and creating positive environments across our clubs and communities.

AFL Nines Community Event

Open to families, supporters and siblings travelling with V/Line Cup teams, the AFL Nines Community Event provides a fun and inclusive opportunity to get involved and play football while supporting the carnival. The event offers the broader travelling football community a chance to connect, participate and enjoy being part of the V/Line Cup experience while supporting Gippsland’s next generation of representative players.
