Gippsland Trainers Group
The Gippsland Trainers Group has been launched to provide an educational and informative networking opportunity for those involved in Gippsland AFL. Boasting members from across Gippsland the forum aims to provide face-to-face and online opportunities for trainers to meet, engage, learn and share.
A Facebook group is available to join at Gippsland Trainers Group where members can provide information, exchange ideas and provide promotion on up-coming events and opportunities.
The group held its inaugural event as a debrief to the 2023 season at the Traralgon Football Club Social Rooms on Wednesday 8th November from 6:00pm.

The Gippsland Trainers Group is commencing with the collection of a trainers contact directory to enable club trainers and league officials to easily get in touch with current trainers. It is hoped that the group will eventually provide a range of opportunities including:
- injury management strategies
- concussion policy updates
- accreditation details
- orientation sessions
- recruitment and retention strategies
- code of conduct development
- role play sessions for stretcher use and neck injuries.
Trainers are an integral part of a day at the football and with an acute shortage in parts of the region we would like to publicise some upcoming courses being held in Gippsland in early 2024. Members of the Gippsland Trainers Group has been actively working with Sports Medicine Australia to deliver 4 sessions for those looking to complete their courses locally.
