Contract Operations Manager
An exciting opportunity exists for a highly organised and community-minded individual to join the West Gippsland Football Netball Competition as the Operations Manager.
This role is central to the successful delivery of our competition and provides key administrative and operational support to member clubs, volunteers, and the Board. You will play an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of football and netball across our competition.
About the Role
Working closely with the Board, member clubs and key stakeholders, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the competition, ensuring strong communication, compliance, and efficiency across the competition.
Key Responsibilities
– Coordinate fixtures, results, and competition administration via platforms such as PlayHQ
– Manage player registrations, permits, and clearances in line with AFL Victoria and Netball Victoria regulations
– Act as the primary point of contact for member clubs, officials, and stakeholders
– Support Tribunal, disciplinary, and compliance processes
– Prepare agendas, minutes, and reports for Board and league meetings
– Assist with match day operations, finals series, and league events
– Maintain league communications, including website updates and social media platforms
– Pursue and negotiate sponsorship agreements
– Support implementation of AFL Victoria policies, West Gippsland Football Netball Competition Bylaws including Player Points System (PPS) and salary cap compliance
About You
– Strong administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail
– Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability
– Experience in community sport (football/netball highly regarded)
– Familiarity with PlayHQ, or similar systems (preferred)
– Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during the season
– A genuine passion for grassroots sport and community engagement
