Gippsland Interleague Carnival 2026

What a fantastic day at the 2026 Gippsland Youth Interleague Carnival!

A huge congratulations to Gippsland League, who once again claimed the overall Carnival Championship in both the Under 18 Football and Under 17 Netball competitions. An outstanding achievement and a testament to the talent across their programs.

Across the day we witnessed some incredible performances, outstanding sportsmanship and plenty of exciting contests on both the field and the court. Congratulations to every player, coach, team manager and volunteer who proudly represented their league.

Events like this simply don’t happen without a huge team effort behind the scenes. Thank you to all six participating leagues for your collaboration and commitment in making the carnival such a success.

• Jenny Blackshaw and Deb Tomey, Mid Gippsland League for managing Netball Connect and ensuring the netball competition ran seamlessly.
• Morwell Football Netball Club for keeping everyone fed with the canteen operating all day.
• Franklin and the Bean for keeping players, officials and spectators fuelled with great coffee.
• The team at A Kick in the Bush for streaming during the day.

Our Football and Netball Umpires, particularly those involved in the Junior Development Programs, whose professionalism and dedication ensured every match was played in the right spirit.

Finally, thank you to everyone who attended, supported and helped create another memorable Gippsland Youth Interleague Carnival. The future of football and netball in Gippsland is certainly in good hands!
