2026 V/Line Cup Coaching Expressions of Interest Now Open

2 February 2026

Expressions of Interest are now open for coaching roles in the 2026 V/Line Cup, Victoria’s premier Under 15 boys’ and girls’ football championship.

The V/Line Cup provides talented regional footballers with a critical step in the AFL Talent Pathway. For many athletes, it represents their first progression toward elite programs such as the Talent League, and ultimately AFL or AFLW opportunities.

The 2026 V/Line Cup Carnival will be held during the September School Holidays.

AFL Gippsland, in partnership with Gippsland Power, is seeking passionate and motivated coaches to help develop the next generation of Gippsland football talent and contribute to a high-quality representative program.

Coaching Opportunities Available

Coaching roles are available across the following programs:

  • Division 1 Boys – 1 x Head Coach, 2 x Assistant Coaches
  • Division 2 Boys – 1 x Head Coach, 2 x Assistant Coaches
  • Division 1 Girls – 1 x Head Coach, 2 x Assistant Coaches

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • A strong commitment to player development and mentoring young athletes
  • A desire to continue their own coaching growth and learning
  • Availability to travel with the team to and from the V/Line Cup Carnival
  • The ability to commit to trial sessions, program activities, and the full carnival period

Gippsland Coaching Academy

All applicants will be invited to attend the Gippsland Coaching Academy, with involvement in the Academy viewed favourably as part of the selection process. The Academy supports coach development through professional learning, shared experiences, and alignment with Gippsland’s broader coaching and talent pathway framework.

As part of the application process, applicants will also be invited to attend an information session on Tuesday 17 February, held prior to the first Gippsland Coaching Academy session, outlining key program expectations and requirements.

Additional Information

Applicants must be officially registered with Coach.AFL and hold a minimum Silver Coaching Accreditation, or be willing to actively work towards this level. AFL Gippsland can provide support to coaches progressing through accreditation requirements.

Further details regarding the full program structure, satellite training sessions, and key dates will be released in coming weeks. Coaches are encouraged to stay connected via AFL Gippsland and Gippsland Power websites and social media channels for updates.

Coaches considering applying should ensure they are available during the September School Holiday period and able to meet all program commitments.
