Coach Induction Workshops 2026
Coach Induction Workshops, designed to support both new and returning junior and youth coaches for the 2026 season will be held again in early 2026. Start you coaching journey off with a Coach Induction course conducted by AFL Victoria/AFL Gippsland Coach Developers. The session will cover the role of the coach, coaching at training and game day and a fun practical element. League specific junior rules will be distributed alongside an introduction to the AFL’s National Junior Rules.
- West Gippsland– Drouin Recreation Reserve – Wednesday 11th March from 6:00 – 9:00pm
- South Gippsland– Wonthaggi Recreation Reserve – Wednesday 1st April from 6:00pm – 9:00pm
- Latrobe – Traralgon Showgrounds – Wednesday 18th March from 6:00pm – 9:00pm
- East Gippsland – Bairnsdale City Oval – Wednesday 25th March from 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Program Structure
- The Role of a Coach – Focus on shaping a positive environment for participants.
- Coaching at Training – Skill acquisition and development. Teaching the game at training.
- Coaching Game Day – Fundamentals of Game Day coaching, rotations and communication.
- Practical – Practical element that covers coaching at training, some tips and tricks on making training easier.
