Coach Induction Workshops 2025
We’re excited to announce our upcoming Coach Induction Workshops, designed to support both new and returning junior and youth coaches for the upcoming season. Start you coaching journey off with a Junior Coach Induction course conducted by AFL Victoria/AFL Gippsland Coach Developers. The session will cover the role of the coach, coaching at training and game and a fun practical element. League specific junior rules will be distributed alongside an introduction to the AFL’s National Junior Rules. You will get the chance to hear about the AFL’s new coaching accreditation framework and earn points simply by attending the session.
- East Gippsland Junior Coach Induction (East Gippsland JFA and Omeo and District FNL) – Wednesday 5th March, Bairnsdale FNC Social Rooms, 20 Macarthur Street, Bairnsdale, 6:00pm – 8:30pm
- West and South Gippsland Junior Coach Induction (West Gippsland JFC, Southern Gippsland JFC and Warragul and District JFL) – Monday 17th March, Lang Lang Social Rooms, 200 Caldermeade Road, Caldermeade, 6:00pm – 8:30pm
- Wellington Junior Coach Induction (Sale and District JFA) – Wednesday 26th March, Gippsland Regional Sports Complex, Cobains Road, Sale, 6:00pm – 8:30pm
- Latrobe Junior Coach Induction (Traralgon & District JFL and Central Gippsland JFL) – Monday 31st March, Traralgon West Sports Complex, Douglas Parade, Traralgon, 6:00pm – 8:30pm
Program Structure
- The Role of a Coach – Focus on shaping a positive environment for participants.
- Coaching at Training – Skill acquisition and development. Teaching the game at training.
- Coaching Game Day – Fundamentals of Game Day coaching, rotations and communication.
- Practical – Practical element that covers coaching at training, some tips and tricks on making training easier.
